Ipe Adirondack Chairs - During the spring and summer months while people sit outdoors, speak, rest, or just watch the sky, a popular choice of seating is your Adirondack Chairs. So, exactly what's your Adirondack Chair and why is it so popular?

Adirondack Chairs are often found in outdoor settings. In Canada, they are inclined to be known as Muskoka Chairs (the name coming out of the Muskoka District Municipality in which it's normal to see many cottages and outdoor seating places).

Ipe Adirondack Chair - Wood - The Great Escape
It's said that Adirondack seats were made by Thomas Lee in 1903 if he had some outdoor chairs while his family was on vacation in Westport, New York. The legend says that he cut eleven slats of timber from 1 piece of wood and put them together to make the chair.

Lee knew Harry Burnell and he also knew that Burnell wanted a while and gave him that the pattern for the chair. The chair was initially known as a Westport chair. Burnell filed a patent for the design and did not comprise Lee in the patent.
